Ava and Barber Grove Pipeline and Pump Station Modifications, Lower Hutt, 2011

This contract involved laying a 630mm diameter PE 100 pipeline from Ava Pump Station across the Hutt River to the Barber Grove Pump Station 1500 metres away.

This required working at heights next to the rail line on the rail bridge, deep trenches which needed to be dewatered using wellpoints, building a fibre glass air break over 5m tall, major over-pumping of the Hutt Valley collector sewer pipeline and PE pipe welding.

No subcontractors were used on this pipeline apart from the fibreglass manufacturers.

This project won the NZ Contractors Federation Wellington/Wairarapa Branch award.
