Waterloo UV Run to Waste, 2017

This project involved laying approx. 1500m of 450mm diameter PE 100 SDR11 run to waste pipeline, including valve chambers and outfall to the Hutt River up to a depth of 3m.  The zone was in central Lower Hutt and involved extensive traffic management and communications with businesses and residents.  This was an emergency job to supply water to the Wellington region and involved extensive redesigning by the contractor to achieve a successful outcome.

Due to the urgent nature of this project we engaged the services of E.N. Ramsbottom and Construction Contract Ltd to assist with the work.  Ourselves and Ramsbottom concentrated on laying the pipeline and CCL worked on the pump station chambers.  The project had an incredibly tight frame of only 75 days.  This was shortened to 65 days due to consent issues.  Despite this we still managed to finish the project on time and within budget.

This project won the Civil Contractors NZ Wellington/Wairarapa award for projects over $2 million.
